From Barnstaple: take the A39 direction towards Lynton passing the North Devon Hospital. Continue for approx. 15 mins on the A39 and descend in a series of sharp bends. The road straightens before Brockham Bridge where on the left is a sign for East Down and the Pyne Arms pub.

Take this road passing the Pyne Arms pub on your right. At the sign East Down, continue straight ahead signed Bugford/Stonecombe. After 0.7 miles from that sign is the entrance on right to Sillery cottage and Little Woodacott car park.

Alternative route: Come off A361 at Aller Cross where signed Ilfracombe Combe Martin Lynton. Continue as far as Blackmoor Gate. Take A39 signed Barnstaple. Come off the A39 at Ford Cross turning right for Kentisbury Ford then immediately left where signed Patchole Bugford. Continue to “T” junction and turn left where signed Bugford East Down. Go through Bugford and on up hill passing Sillery Cottage on left and continue for another 100 yards to carpark for Sillery Cottage and Little Woodcott carpark on left.

Please park on woodland side of the area where signed leaving room for other vehicles to come and go.

Go to the sentry box adjacent to the sign for Little Woodacott.  The keys are in the box with the combination. This will be given when full payment of booking is made. There is a torch in the sentry box to help read the combination if it is dark.  There is a sensor night light in the sentry box which comes on when dark when approached.

If dark, the sensor light will automatically light up the car park.  Inside the sentry box is a TOUCH timer switch.  If dark, press this once to light up woodland paths leading to Little Woodacottt.   If dark, when leaving Little Woodacott press TOUCH timer switch once beside front door to light up woodland paths back to car park.

Little Woodacott is set in woods. Please wear suitable footwear and take special care when using paths.
